About Me

I am a Boise Idaho Counselor offering counseling services for individuals, couples, and families.

My areas of expertise include: depression, anxiety, stress, grief, marriage/premarital, PTSD, sexual abuse, codependency, boundaries, parenting, children/adolescents, group therapy, and Christian counseling.

Each of my clients receives a highly personalized approach tailored to his or her needs by using complimentary, evidenced-based methodologies. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on his or her strengths and attain the growth for which they are striving.

My Counseling Philosophy:

I believe that we have positive and negative experiences throughout our lives that form our perspectives and how we view the world, and these perspectives become guides for how we handle life’s challenges.  Sometimes negative experiences can affect how we feel about ourselves, how we interact with others, and how we behave when life becomes stressful.  In counseling, my goal is to help people manage their life and relationships in a more positive, effective way. Counseling is a place for you to be yourself and work through areas of your life that are difficult with the help of someone who is non-judgmental and objective. I believe in integrating therapy with insight, spirituality, and humor when appropriate. Previous clients have identified me as personable, honest, and encouraging.

My Journey:

You may have heard the saying that “life is a journey, not a destination”.  This is a saying that I can very well relate to, as my life has many twists and turns. My original goal, before counseling, was a career in finance.  I received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Finance from Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois, with the intention of providing a safe and secure environment to raise a family. While “society” might have considered me successful in many ways, I knew that I was not fulfilling my life’s purpose. I began to discover my purpose as I started on process of self discovery, followed by leading a marriage mentorship program with my wife for those who struggled in their relationships.  After a series of twists and turns in life, I took a step of faith and ventured into the profession of counseling. I now serve as a Boise, Idaho counselor and have the privilege of journeying with my clients through brief seasons of their life, supporting them as they heal and grow. Each day, I have the opportunity to explore, understand, and help change lives using my education, life experience, and love for people.
